So so so so happy I have you again!
Another sucker… This game used to be called Gauntlet, and Gauntlet Legends. Now its called “motherfucker, spend 800 dollars a year for shitty ass figures doing shitty ass moves with shitty ass camera control, for the 4th gen”
I don’t think you’ve played Gauntlet? because Gauntlet and Skylanders are NOTHING alike.
Yes, because a 3rd person hack and slash dungeon crawler like Gauntlet and Skylanders are nothing alike. It’s not like they have arbitrary time or health limits, or the same exact gameplay elements except for the fucking bullshit portal and the need to buy every fucking new character. It’s THE SAME FUCKING GAME ASIDE FROM THAT and you are blind if you think otherwise. That’s like saying Final Fantasy Online and Star Wars The Old Republic and World of Warcraft are different.
Your argument is ”same genre = same game.” you have clearly never played skylanders. there are no time or health limits, i have no idea what you mean trying to imply that they do. By gameplay elements, i assume you mean “kill things and advance” which yes, most games have that mechanic. by your logic, a game like God of War is also the same as Gauntlet and Skylanders. There is nothing forcing you to buy new characters, you CAN play the game to completion with the characters that come with the game. you may not get 100% completion, but the same can be said of Rock Band, with it’s huge library of songs that you can buy if you wish, but do not have to in order to play the game.
As for TOR, I have never played it, but having played both World of Warcraft and Final Fantasy XI (I’m going to assume you haven’t, but please inform me otherwise if you have,) yes, they are both fantasy games, both MMOs, but they have many different mechanics regarding combat, classes and player interaction; so yes, they are different. Not all MMOs are WoW clones.
